Bruce on QPR: Let's pack the park again

Steve Bruce was thrilled with the electric Villa Park atmosphere this past weekend, saying it reminded him of the "good old days" - and wants the same again tonight.

Bruce hailed the "unbelievable crowd" as we defeated Wolves 4-1 in B6 and knows we will need enormous support between now and the end of the season to get us over the promotion finishing line.

That starts again this evening with a game he's tipping to be harder than the clash with the table-toppers on Saturday.

He said: "I think tonight will be a more difficult game. There will be an expectation.

"We need the crowd to come back and be like they were against Wolves on Saturday.

"Villa Park at the weekend reminded me of the good old days, which was good to see. We had an unbelievable crowd behind us. It's not been like that for a few years. We were all delighted with that.

"It will be 'after the lord mayor's show' tonight and everything that goes with it. It's about getting ready to go again.

"The players ran a million miles on Saturday but they have to do it all over again.

"We are fancied this evening. But my experience of the Championship is that it kicks you in the backside when you're not expecting it to. We have to guard against that.  It's a big game tonight."

Bruce also paid tribute to goal hero Lewis Grabban on the eve of tonight's Rangers clash.

Grabban, on loan from Bournemouth, has bagged four goals in four games - and Bruce is thrilled with his outstanding contribution to the cause.

He added: "There are not many people who come in and hit the ground running here at Aston Villa, especially on loan.

"I am delighted for him, absolutely delighted. He's been terrific since he's come through the door. Long may it continue."

Make sure you snap up your tickets for tonight's QPR clash.
