Glenn Whelan believes Josh Onomah will be a creative force for the team this season as we look for Premier League promotion.
Onomah joined on a season-long loan from Tottenham and has already seen action against both Hull and Colchester.
He could keep his place in the starting line-up this afternoon at Cardiff – and Whelan believes he will be a real asset for the claret and blues.
Josh is a talented boy. He’s shown that already.
He said: “Josh is a talented boy. He’s shown that already in his two games.
“I think his quality is demonstrated by the fact he came in on the Friday before Hull and then he was in the squad on the Saturday. That shows what the manager thinks of him.
“He showed some good touches in that game and then he was very good in the cup match at Colchester.
“I think he will be a very good player for us and I believe he can be someone who creates and scores plenty of chances for us.
“I am happy to encourage him. I have played a lot of games at this level and if I can pass anything on to him, I’m more than happy to.
“I have already told him not to get discouraged if things don’t come off in games, I have told him to keep going.”
